Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has expressed disappointment over what she described as a lack of proper recognition for her contributions to Nigeria’s music industry.
Speaking during an appearance on the Offair Show hosted by Gbemi and Toolz, the singer—often hailed as the Queen of Afrobeats—said she believes she hasn’t received the accolades she truly deserves.
When Toolz asked if she felt the industry had given her flowers, Tiwa responded candidly:
“No. I’m sorry, I don’t.”
Tiwa, who is one of Africa’s most celebrated and awarded female artists, has played a pivotal role in taking Afrobeats to the global stage with chart-topping hits like Malo, Koroba, and Somebody’s Son.
Despite her international success and influence, the singer said Nigerian audiences and the local music industry often fail to give her due credit for paving the way for other female artists.
Fans online have since reacted to her remarks, with many agreeing that Tiwa Savage’s legacy and impact deserve greater appreciation within the Nigerian entertainment space.
