Nigerian actress and entrepreneur May Edochie has shared the story of how she met her estranged husband, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, revealing that their relationship began long before fame and marriage entered the picture.
Speaking in a recent lifestyle podcast, May recounted that their first encounter took place at a General Certificate Examination (GCE) centre during her early university days.
According to her, she had just relocated from Lagos to the East to begin her studies at Enugu State University, while Yul was a student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) at the time.
“Way back in school, when I went to the East for my university, I’ve always been a bookworm. It’s always been about books for me,” she recalled. “We didn’t meet at a party or any glamorous setting — we met at a GCE centre.”
Reflecting on that period, May described herself as a focused and academically driven young woman, more interested in her studies than social activities.
Her revelation has since sparked reactions online, with fans praising her calm composure and openness amid her ongoing separation from the actor.
