Actress Judy Austin has finally reacted to recent allegations made by her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, who accused her of infidelity during their marriage and alleged that he had been denied access to their children.
Addressing the controversy in an online video, Judy dismissed the claims. She questioned why her ex-husband had not provided any evidence showing that he had cared for the children or taken legal steps to seek custody.
According to the actress, Emmanuel Obasi has continued to make accusations on social media while failing to address the matter through the proper legal channels.
“It hurts. Not once has he ever brought out any evidence of taking care of this kid. Not once has he ever brought out any evidence of going to court for custody,” she said.
Judy also defended her husband, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, asking critics, bloggers, and members of the public to stop involving him in the dispute.
She described Yul as supportive of her and her children from her previous marriage.
“Please, I am warning all you bloggers, stop insulting Yul Edochie,” she stated.
The actress further addressed the timeline of her relationship with Yul, insisting that they became involved years after her marriage to Emmanuel Obasi had ended and that there was no infidelity involved.
“I met him three years after my marriage ended,” she said.
Judy accused her former husband of publicly contradicting himself and of avoiding a legal resolution to the disagreement.
She argued that men who support single mothers and their children should be appreciated rather than criticised, warning that constant attacks on such individuals could discourage others from helping families in similar situations.
“If we continue to allow deadbeats to come out and lie, what will be the fate of all descendants?” she questioned.
The actress concluded by stating that she is ready to resolve the matter legally and believes the courts will determine the truth.
“As for Emmanuel Obasi, we will meet where we’re supposed to meet. And the law will grant justice to who deserves it,” she said.
