Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, are facing serious fraud allegations as details of their case continue to unfold.
According to Carroll County Sheriff James T. DeWees, the couple allegedly falsified reports of a robbery at their Maryland residence, claiming losses totaling over $400,000 in valuables — including jewelry that investigators say may never have been stolen.
During a press conference, Sheriff DeWees detailed that the Osefos are accused of filing three separate insurance claims for the same alleged incident, involving multiple insurance companies:
-
Travelers Insurance: $25,380 payout, which included $4,500 for Wendy’s diamond anniversary band.
-
Homesite Insurance: Claimed $450,000 in property losses and $2,500 in building damage.
-
Jewelers Mutual: Submitted a separate claim for jewelry theft, listing 57 items.
Investigators allege the couple failed to inform each insurer that similar claims were being filed elsewhere — a deceptive practice known as insurance fraud through double-dipping.
In a statement shared through their representatives, the Osefos expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received during this difficult time:
“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues.
The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
The allegations have sent shockwaves through the Real Housewives of Potomac fanbase, with many awaiting further updates as the legal proceedings continue.
RHOP airs Sunday nights at 8 PM on Bravo.
