Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has issued a stern warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the conviction and sentencing of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Reacting on social media, Chief Priest declared that as long as Kanu remains in detention, President Tinubu should forget about making electoral inroads in the South-East during the 2027 presidential elections.
According to him, Kanu’s continued incarceration has caused significant distrust and disaffection within the region, insisting that the President would struggle to secure even 10,000 votes unless the separatist leader is released.
He wrote:
“President @officialasiwajubat, as long as MNK remains in jail, you cannot and will never get up to 10,000 votes in the South-East come 2027. I will not lie to you, Papa. As a friend of your government, I have no reason to whitewash you. MNK is the supreme leader of the South-East. His detention has caused us so much setback.”
Chief Priest also accused South-East ministers in the federal cabinet of failing to speak truth to the President, describing them as “cowards” who lack the capacity to earn the people’s trust or support.
He further asserted that South-East governors would also disappoint the President because they had little to show their people, insisting that only Nnamdi Kanu’s release could change the political mood in the region.
The nightlife mogul also referenced a recent meeting with the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, claiming that many of the individuals around the younger Tinubu were “bags of deceit” who could not deliver meaningful political support.
He continued:
“They can’t even go to their hometowns because of MNK’s detention, so how can they help you? They only want lands to develop and sell. You know I don’t need anything from you. Villa na hotel—your checkout time go reach soon. Only MNK can guarantee real votes from the South-East.”
Chief Priest also singled out Abia State Governor Alex Otti as one of the few leaders capable of genuinely convincing the people, expressing disappointment that President Tinubu did not personally attend the commissioning of projects in Abia.
He urged Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma to intervene in Kanu’s case, warning that his legacy could be erased if he fails to act.
Concluding his lengthy message, Cubana Chief Priest called on the President to appeal Kanu’s conviction and “get it right,” insisting that the political future of the current administration depended on it.
“These are the words of the gods,” he warned. “Play with it at your own risk.”
