Diddy Enters Drug Rehabilitation Programme That Could Shorten His Prison Sentence

Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accepted into a drug abuse rehabilitation programme that could reduce his prison sentence by up to one year, according to reports.

Diddy, who is currently serving a more than four-year sentence at the Fort Dix federal prison complex in New Jersey following convictions for prostitution-related offences, will now undergo intensive therapy as part of the programme.

A spokesperson for Diddy, Juda Engelmayer, confirmed the development to The New York Times on Monday, noting that the rapper is “committed to sobriety, focused on healing, and trying to set an example for others.

The Bureau of Prisons has listed Combs’ expected release date as May 2028, though successful completion of the rehabilitation programme could shorten that timeline.

During his trial, prosecutors presented evidence of Combs’ past drug use, including opiates, while federal agents who raided his Los Angeles mansion before his arrest reportedly recovered cocaine, ketamine, MDMA tablets, and benzodiazepine pills.

Combs’ legal team previously stated that he had struggled with substance abuse but has maintained sobriety while incarcerated.

Inside Fort Dix, Combs is reportedly housed in a nine-person room within a 200-inmate unit and works in the chapel library.

The new development follows recent speculation after TMZ reported that Combs had been caught drinking homemade alcohol in prison—a claim Engelmayer strongly denied, insisting the reports were “false and reckless.”
