According to Billboard, Drake is officially the best songwriter among his 21st-century peers on the Hot 100 — surpassed only by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. The publication recently released a list ranking the 25 songwriters with the most No. 1 hits on the Hot 100 in the 21st century, and Drake landed at number three.
With 14 chart-topping hits to his name, Drake ranks highest among hip-hop artists and many major pop stars, surpassing Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, and several others. The only writers above him are Dr. Luke, with 18 No. 1 hits, and Max Martin, who leads the list with an impressive 26.
The ranking sparked widespread praise on social media — along with a few lighthearted jabs referencing Drake’s long-standing ghostwriting allegations. Still, the list highlights his extraordinary influence, commercial dominance, and ability to transcend genre and demographic boundaries throughout his career.
Drake’s continued success has also renewed conversations about whether he has reached billionaire status. Despite massive brand deals, blockbuster tours, lucrative contracts, and diverse business ventures, he is not officially a billionaire yet — at least based on available verified reports. However, many fans believe it’s only a matter of time.
In more good news for the Toronto rapper, the Grammys offered recognition from a different angle — quality over charts. His collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR, “SOMEBODY LOVES ME,” from $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, earned a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance. It is his only nod this year, but one he has a strong chance of winning.
Drake’s return to acting has also generated excitement among fans, as he is set to make a cameo appearance in the Canadian TV comedy The Office Movers.
