“I’ve Never Felt Better” – Meghan Trainor Responds to Criticism of Her Weight-Loss Transformation

Meghan Trainor is pushing back against critics who have “attacked” her new appearance following her weight-loss journey.

Earlier this year, the All About That Bass singer revealed she had undergone breast augmentation and lost 60 pounds (27 kilograms) with the help of the weight-loss drug Mounjaro. However, in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight,Meghan Trainor admitted that while she feels healthier than ever, the negative comments about her appearance are “getting louder”.

“I’m literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and I’ve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great,” she said. “And that’s when people attack me.”

The 31-year-old, who shares two sons with her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, emphasised that she’s trying to ignore the backlash because she knows she’s making her well-being a priority.
“I’m taking care of myself,” she explained. “I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”

In March, the Lips Are Movin’ singer publicly disclosed that she had been taking Mounjaro, a Type 2 diabetes medication, as part of her weight-loss plan. She later clarified that she began using the injections, along with a dietician and trainer, after welcoming her second child in July 2023.

Meghan Trainor has since channelled the criticism into her music, addressing body-shaming in her new single Still Don’t Care. She told People that comments about her being “too thin” or “unrecognisable” left her feeling confused.

“People started commenting about my body, saying I’m too thin, and that they don’t recognise me anymore. And I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve just been focusing so hard on my health and my fitness that I’ve never felt better.’ So, I was confused and sad and was like, ‘Oh, it’s almost worse now.’ I don’t know what happened,” she shared.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind her new track, she added,
“I liked the idea of… ‘Let me think about it one more time. Nope, I still don’t care.’ And I know that when I start singing it, it’ll be my therapy, my exposure therapy.”
