Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has officially received her second Guinness World Record plaque, this time for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
According to Guinness World Records, Baci achieved the remarkable feat by preparing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a massive picnic event in Lagos in September.
This new milestone comes just over a year after her globally celebrated 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon in May 2023, which earned her first Guinness World Record.
The 29-year-old chef is now the first and most decorated Nigerian chef to hold two Guinness World Records.
Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Baci wrote: “Two records. Two plaques. One tale of history, faith, and fire. We made history for Nigeria twice.”
She described the achievement as a testament to “Nigeria’s creativity and culinary influence globally,” while urging her followers to trust in divine timing, citing Isaiah 61:7 — “a double portion instead of shame.”
Over 20,000 people attended the jollof rice picnic, including celebrities and influencers, with all servings distributed to attendees and charity organizations in line with Guinness verification rules.
