Kemi Adetiba (born on January 8, 1980, 46 years old) is from Ekiti State, Nigeria, and comes from a family steeped in the media.
Her father, Dele Adetiba, was a legendary advertising executive and broadcaster, while her mother ran a successful public relations firm. This creative environment nurtured Kemi’s early love for storytelling.

She attended the University of Lagos, where she studied and graduated with a law degree in 2001. She never practiced law; instead, she followed her passion into broadcasting, first as an on-air personality at Rhythm 93.7 FM and later as a host on Beat FM and Soundcity TV.
Career
Kemi changed Nigeria’s music video scene during the 2000s, then kept shaping it through the next decade – working with stars such as Olamide on “Sitting on the Throne,” Wande Coal for “Taboo,” plus Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Banky W along the way. With a bold film-like touch, she became known far and wide as the Queen of Music Videos.”

In 2016, she stepped into movies through The Wedding Party, raking in ₦514 million – topping every Nollywood release so far.
After that came its 2017 follow-up, then the smash hit King of Boys in 2018, which ruled Netflix across Africa.
Its spinoff, a seven-episode run titled King of Boys: The Return of the King (2021), solidified her name in stone. Now, To Kill a Monkey (2024) keeps pushing strong stories led by women. Behind it all stands Kemi Adetiba Visuals (KAV), her own high-end production setup.
