The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced plans to prosecute popular TikTok content creator Ademola Abiodun, widely known as DJ Chicken, following a series of road traffic incidents that have raised serious public safety concerns.
The decision comes after a crash on November 1, 2025, in Sagamu, where DJ Chicken allegedly hit two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger critically injured. According to a statement released on Monday via the state government’s official X account, eyewitnesses reported that the entertainer attempted to flee the scene but was restrained by bystanders.
“While it may be reasonable to allow crash victims get compensation from persons who have driven recklessly and to resolve road traffic collisions as a civil wrong, some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law. Mr Abiodun is one such person,” the ministry said.
The statement further noted that DJ Chicken was involved in another road incident on November 23, 2025, in Lekki, Lagos State, where he narrowly avoided hitting pedestrians. “This lone car incident almost harmed pedestrians, but for good fortune and the pedestrians’ quick reflexes,” it added.
In response, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has ordered officers to fast-track the pending Sagamu case for immediate arraignment.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety, stating: “The Office of the Attorney-General is working closely with the police to achieve this outcome.”
