Controversial social media personality DJ Chicken has been released from custody after spending several weeks in prison over allegations of threatening the life of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
His release was captured in a video shared during his lawyer’s livestream, showing the entertainer walking out of prison alongside his legal team, friends and associates.
A Lagos Magistrate’s Court had previously remanded DJ Chicken after he was arraigned on charges bordering on alleged death threats, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and offences under the Cybercrime Act.
Speaking shortly after regaining his freedom, he reflected on his time in custody, describing prison as an isolating experience.
“No family, no friends, just you and your head.”
The remark quickly gained attention on social media, with many reacting to his account of life behind bars.
While details of the court proceedings following his release have not been made public, his freedom marks the latest development in a case that attracted widespread attention due to the nature of the allegations.
As of the time of publication, authorities have not issued any additional statement regarding the status of the charges against DJ Chicken. His legal team is also yet to provide further details on the outcome of the case.
