Fast-rising Nigerian singer Candy Bleakz has cried out for justice after being violently attacked and robbed in South Africa.
On Thursday, the 26-year-old posted disturbing videos showing her bleeding from the mouth.
In one clip, she confronted a police officer at the scene, asking tearfully, “Officer, why did you let them rob me like this? Why? You were there. You let them go.”
Candy Bleakz said she was outside her apartment having a cup of coffee when several unidentified men approached her. According to her, they assaulted her and fled with her gold jewellery reportedly worth about N10 million.
The singer later shared another video on Snapchat, looking distressed as she nursed visible bruises from the attack.
Candy, known for her vibrant persona and growing influence in Afrobeats, has received an outpouring of sympathy from fans and colleagues who have expressed shock over the incident.
Her attack comes months after Mavin Records’ DJ Big N survived a similar experience in Johannesburg.
The DJ was shot in the leg by armed robbers who targeted him for his jewellery, with the bullet narrowly missing a major artery.
The recurring incidents have once again raised concerns about the safety of Nigerians and other foreigners in South Africa.
