Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his “friend and brother” of over 22 years, following a courtesy visit to the State House in Abuja.
The governor posted on Facebook on Friday, along with photos from the visit. Soludo highlighted the long-standing personal relationship between both leaders, noting that it predates their current political offices.
“Yesterday, I paid a courtesy visit to my dear friend and brother of over 22 years, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the State House, Abuja,” he wrote.
According to Soludo, President Tinubu welcomed him with “warmth, a big smile, and open arms,” adding that the president once again congratulated him on his recent re-election as governor of Anambra State.
“He again personally congratulated me on the resounding mandate given to me by the good people of Anambra State in the just-concluded governorship election – a victory he described as a testament to the trust and confidence Ndi Anambra have in our shared vision for a livable and prosperous homeland,” Soludo said.
The governor expressed gratitude for the president’s early congratulatory message on election day and his ongoing support for the state.
Soludo also reiterated his commitment to national unity and development, saying: “We are one Nigeria, and together – with God on our side – we will build the Anambra and the Nigeria of our dreams. May Anambra continue to win!”
President Tinubu had earlier issued an official message congratulating Soludo after he was declared winner of the governorship election by INEC with 73 percent of the votes.
