Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has said his meeting with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ended on a positive note.
Malami, who was invited by the anti-graft agency over allegations of misconduct during his time in office, confirmed in a social media post on Friday that he had been released and scheduled for a follow-up session.
He expressed confidence that the “fabricated allegations” against him would be exposed in due time.
“In line with my undertaking to keep Nigerians updated on my invitation by EFCC, I give glory to Allah for His divine intervention. The engagement was successful and I am eventually released, while on an appointment for further engagement, as the truth relating to the fabricated allegations against me continues to unfold,” he wrote.
The former minister had been summoned to address claims surrounding decisions and actions taken while he held office.
