Tyler, The Creator has been announced as Apple Music’s Artist of the Year for 2025 — a major nod to the rapper-producer’s groundbreaking influence on global music and culture over the past year. The recognition comes on the heels of Tyler’s most successful streaming year yet, solidifying his place as one of the most innovative creatives of his generation.
According to Apple Music, listeners worldwide streamed a staggering 4.5 billion minutes of Tyler’s music between November 2024 and October 2025, marking all-time highs in global plays and audience reach.
Tyler, The Creator kicked off the year with the launch of his ambitious tour for CHROMAKOPIA, his deeply personal and immersive album that became his biggest release ever on the platform, setting first-day and first-week streaming records. Midway through the tour, he surprised fans with a second project, DON’T TAP THE GLASS — a raw, energetic rap album that sharply contrasted the world-building of CHROMAKOPIA. The project immediately climbed to No. 1 on Apple Music in more than 55 countries.
His unparalleled creative streak extended beyond recorded music. Tyler dominated the festival scene with headlining performances at Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands, while also reviving his homegrown Los Angeles festival, Camp Flog Gnaw.
“Tyler continues to prove that anything is possible. His creativity has been incredible all year,” said Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director.
Reacting to the honor, Tyler expressed gratitude: “To be this year’s Apple Music Artist of the Year, it’s sick. I appreciate the recognition. Please keep supporting folks who are a bit out of the box.”
Rounding off a monumental year, Tyler is set to make his feature-film debut in Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme. He also ends 2025 with five new GRAMMY nominations spanning both CHROMAKOPIA and DON’T TAP THE GLASS, further cementing his profound impact on music and culture.
