Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has issued a public apology following his physical altercation with comedian Mr Jollof aboard a commercial flight.
In a remorseful video shared online, VDM admitted that the clash—which occurred on a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos—was unnecessary and avoidable.
He acknowledged the seriousness of his actions, saying:
“What happened yesterday was avoidable. I was not supposed to do that. I am really, really sorry.”
VDM apologized directly to the passengers onboard, expressing regret for the chaos and discomfort the altercation caused.
“I want to apologize to the passengers. It was total irresponsibility from my end,” he said.
He further extended the apology to his supporters, noting that he understands the disappointment felt by those who look up to him. VDM also addressed the airline crew—especially the pilot and flight attendants—recognizing the distress and potential danger the situation posed.
“To the pilot and the flight attendants, I am really, really sorry. I f*cked up.”
While acknowledging that he cannot promise such incidents will never happen again, VDM assured the public that there will be no repeat of such behaviour in public spaces, especially on planes or buses.
The incident has continued to spark online discussion, with many Nigerians calling for greater self-control from public figures travelling on commercial flights.
