Nigerian singer Asake has relocated to Los Angeles, United States, as part of efforts to expand his reach on the global music scene.
Speaking in an interview with Office Magazine, the Afrobeats star clarified that the move does not signal a departure from Nigeria but represents a strategic step toward taking his career to the next level internationally.
“Humans are the same everywhere,” Asake said, noting that people across the world share similar goals of success and financial stability. According to him, the relocation is driven by professional growth rather than a desire to disconnect from his roots.
The singer credited his musical upbringing for shaping his distinctive Afrobeats sound, adding that he values solitude as a way to remain focused and creative in his work.
Asake’s move places him among a growing number of Nigerian artistes establishing a base in the United States to strengthen international exposure, a list that includes fellow star Ayra Starr.
The relocation reflects the continued global expansion of Afrobeats, as Nigerian musicians increasingly position themselves closer to major international markets while maintaining strong ties to their home country.
