Tinubu Rejects National Assembly Library Bill, Warns of Legal and Financial Pitfalls

President Bola Tinubu has described his rise to the presidency as a difficult journey filled with obstacles, attributing his eventual success to perseverance and divine intervention.

Speaking at the 15th National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja on Friday, Tinubu recalled the economic and social hardships Nigerians faced ahead of the 2023 general election, including food shortages, the currency redesign policy and widespread fuel scarcity that led to long queues at petrol stations.

The President noted that many Nigerians struggled to afford basic meals during the period, stressing that his path to leadership was far from easy. Despite these challenges, he credited God for his emergence as president, saying his leadership was only possible through divine grace.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain patient and grateful despite ongoing difficulties, emphasising faith, unity and resilience as essential to sustaining the country’s democracy. He warned that Nigeria must not allow its democratic system to fail.

He also called for inclusive leadership, compassion and tolerance, advising against imposing authority by force. According to him, leadership opportunities are ultimately determined by God, reaffirming his belief that destiny plays a central role in governance.
