Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants Asake to perform at his wedding.
He shared this during their recent joint appearance on Apple Music radio with DJ Tunez. Wizkid explained that while ‘Omo Ope’ first made him a fan of Asake, ‘Remember’ remains his favourite song from the singer — and the track he wants played at his wedding.
The Starboy boss praised Asake as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and globally, describing him as a major blessing to African music.
He said, “‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’, I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record.
“You [Asake] are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I am saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid is currently in a romantic relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Japa P. The pair share three children — two boys and a girl — and the singer has been hinting at his wedding plans for years.
