My cancer treatment to be reduced next year after early diagnosis – King Charles III

King Charles III has announced that his cancer treatment will be scaled back in the coming year, attributing his progress to early detection, quality medical care, and closely following doctors’ guidance.

The 77-year-old monarch shared the update in a pre-recorded message aired on British television as part of a public awareness campaign encouraging people to participate in cancer screening programs, which help identify the disease at its most treatable stages.

“Early diagnosis quite simply saves lives,” Charles said, explaining that early detection played a crucial role in his own recovery and has allowed him to continue “leading a full and active life even while undergoing treatment.”

King Charles reflected on the 22 months since he publicly disclosed his diagnosis, a move that departed from long-standing royal tradition of keeping health matters private. At the time, Buckingham Palace said the decision was made to prevent speculation and to promote greater global awareness about cancer.
