Fashion designer and influencer Veekee James has revealed a personal boundary in her marriage, stating that her husband, Femi Atere, is not permitted to have a female best friend.
On the Off the Top podcast, Veekee explained that while many men maintain close friendships with women, she does not allow it in her own marriage. According to her, she is comfortable being the only woman her husband turns to for friendship, emotional support, and companionship.
“Femi Atere can never have a female best friend,” she said. “Even if he does, I’ll occupy it with all of myself and my body alone.”
Veekee noted that every marriage operates with its own unique boundaries, stressing that what works for one couple may not work for another. She believes couples should openly define the rules that protect their relationship.
This isn’t the first time Veekee has sparked conversation with her views on marriage. She previously opened up about the intense criticism and false accusations she faced, including claims that she “snatched” her husband from a friend—allegations that she said once pushed her close to depression.
Despite the challenges, Veekee continues to encourage women to support their husbands, safeguard their relationships, and prioritize their emotional well-being.
