Pandemonium broke out on Thursday night in Jabo, a town in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, following U.S. military airstrikes targeting terrorist hideouts in northwestern Nigeria.
The operation was earlier announced by United States President, Donald Trump, who said the strikes were aimed at eliminating terrorists responsible for violence in the region.
During the operation, one of the missiles reportedly landed in Jabo and burst into flames, triggering widespread panic among residents.
CREEBHILLS gathered that many locals fled their homes in fear, taking refuge in neighbouring villages to avoid possible casualties.
Although details surrounding the airstrikes remain sketchy, sources said no civilian casualties were recorded.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions across social media, with Nigerians expressing varying opinions over the U.S. military action on Nigerian soil.
Jabo village, just after Sokoto Airport in Tambuwal LGA, is in chaos tonight. Civilians are fleeing in panic toward Sokoto city as fear spreads.
Civilians are not targets. Let the terrorists feel the pain of the people, America should strike their hideout.
