Nigeria’s Super Eagles will round off 2025 in 38th position globally, following the release of the latest FIFA men’s ranking on Monday.
The team, coached by Éric Chelle, also retained their status as the fifth-best side in Africa. The three-time African champions remain behind continental heavyweights Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt in the African standings.
With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations currently underway, the Super Eagles will be aiming to boost their global and continental rankings through strong performances at the tournament.
On the world stage, Spain held on to the top spot in the rankings, finishing ahead of reigning world champions Argentina. France, England, and Brazil rounded out the top five teams globally.
The next FIFA men’s ranking update is scheduled to be released on January 19, 2026.
