The Angola Football Federation is reportedly making a move to lure Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, away from Nigeria following his impressive showing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Chelle has drawn widespread admiration across the continent after guiding Nigeria through a strong AFCON campaign in Morocco, with the Super Eagles praised for their exciting and attacking style of play.
According to SCORENigeria, the Angolan FA is prepared to significantly improve his earnings, offering to double his current salary. The Malian tactician is said to be earning $50,000 per month under his existing contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, which still has one year remaining.
Angola are reportedly ready to pay Chelle $100,000 monthly to take over as head coach of the Palancas Negras, who endured a disappointing AFCON 2025 campaign after failing to advance beyond the group stage.
The development highlights the coach’s rising stock in African football following Nigeria’s strong tournament run.
