American rapper Kid Cudi has hinted at a return to music, months after announcing a hiatus following the release of his last major label album, Free.
The rapper had made headlines in September when he disclosed plans to step away from music. However, it now appears that Cudi has had a change of heart.
Taking to X, the Day ‘n’ Nite crooner revealed that he has been back in the studio, working with both longtime collaborators and new creatives, and feeling re-energised by the process.
According to him, music remains an irreplaceable part of his life, despite earlier intentions to take a break.
“I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll be making music for a very, very long time,” Kid Cudi wrote. “I get in these places where I wanna just relax for a while but then boom, back in the studio. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and it’s a high I can’t get anywhere else.”
Kid Cudi admitted that even his wife doubted his ability to stay away from music, adding humorously that she often reminds him he can’t help himself.
“So I know I said I’m taking a break but don’t even take me serious with that,” he added. “I’m not going anywhere and I will always have your back.”
The post has sparked excitement among fans, many of whom believe the rapper’s next musical era may arrive sooner than expected.
