Morocco secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after recording a convincing 2–0 victory over Cameroon in their quarter-final encounter on Friday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The Atlas Lions asserted control early in the contest, with Brahim Díaz opening the scoring in the 26th minute. Morocco maintained their dominance and eventually sealed the result in the 74th minute when Ismael Saibari struck to put the game beyond Cameroon’s reach.
Morocco progressed to the quarter-finals following a narrow 1–0 victory over Tanzania in the Round of 16. They had earlier topped Group A with seven points, concluding the group stage with an emphatic 3–0 win over Zambia.
Cameroon reached the last eight after a 2–1 triumph over South Africa. The Indomitable Lions finished as runners-up in Group F with seven points, having secured wins against Gabon and Mozambique, alongside a draw with Côte d’Ivoire.
Morocco’s victory keeps their continental title ambitions alive as they move into the decisive stages of AFCON 2025.
