Reality TV star Phyna has sparked conversations online after a confrontation with a police officer who stopped her vehicle on a Nigerian road.
In a video shared on social media, Phyna questioned the legality of the stop, arguing that officers should not randomly block vehicles without following proper operational procedures.
The former Big Brother Naija winner insisted that police officers ought to park their patrol vehicles appropriately before conducting checks, rather than obstructing traffic or selecting vehicles at will.
Describing the encounter as “wrong and unacceptable,” Phyna challenged the officer’s conduct and demanded to know why she was being stopped. She also warned that she would escalate the matter to senior authorities within the Nigeria Police Force.
In the footage, Phyna instructed her driver to remain calm and avoid any physical confrontation, stating that her focus was on voicing concerns about what she described as unprofessional behaviour.
“Oga, I am a celebrity. How dare you stop me and say what you said?” she said.
“In the middle of the road, Nigeria Police will now stop and just select a random car. I’ve never heard about it in my life. You need police to park properly before stopping cars. You’re not allowed to stop like this,” she added.
The incident has since generated mixed reactions online, with some users supporting her stance on police procedure and others cautioning against confrontations during routine security checks.
As of the time of this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official response regarding the incident.
