US Congressman Riley Moore has warned that President Donald Trump’s statements should always be taken seriously, stressing that the United States will not tolerate threats to its security or territorial influence.
Moore made the remarks on Monday during an interview on Newsmax, where he said America would not allow adversaries to gain control within its hemisphere or endanger the lives of its citizens.
According to him, groups chanting anti-American slogans may appear “ridiculous,” but they genuinely believe in undermining the United States and its way of life.
“They want to see the destruction of the United States. They’re well aware of the stakes that are going on here,” Moore said.
He further described the situation as a broader ideological battle, claiming that Western civilisation is under threat.
“This is a fight for our western civilization, which they are adamantly opposed to — this country, our way of life and our civilization,” he stated.
Moore accused socialist movements of backing figures such as Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, whom he described as a “narco-terrorist,” alleging that Maduro invited China to establish a military presence in Venezuela.
The congressman insisted that the US would not allow its adversaries to dominate strategic spaces or pose security risks close to home.
“We’re not going to allow our adversaries to control space and threaten the security of Americans here within our own hemisphere,” he said.
He likened current US foreign policy to a renewed version of the Monroe Doctrine, calling it “Monroe Doctrine 2.0” or “the Donro Doctrine,” in reference to Trump.
Moore concluded by warning both foreign and domestic actors not to underestimate Trump’s resolve.
“And make no mistake, when Donald Trump makes a statement that you are no longer going to threaten us, kill our people with drugs or anything else, take it seriously,” he said.
He added a pointed caution, saying, “I would say the same thing with the people in Nigeria. Do not test this President’s resolve. Many have tried, and all have failed.”
