Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has revealed why she no longer advises people to audition for the popular reality television show.
Speaking openly about her experience, Phyna acknowledged that while BBNaija offers instant fame, the popularity contestants enjoy during the show often fades once they leave the house. According to her, the excitement and appeal that come with being on the show rarely translate into lasting relevance afterward.
She explained that the fan base tends to remain the same from season to season, with attention simply shifting from one set of housemates to another.
“The steeze housemates do have on the show they don’t have it again, because it’s the same fan base that move from one to another, no new people, nothing new. It’s just the same people.
And that aside, the show has lost credibility compared to the way it was before, because when you tell someone now that I came out of BBNaija, they won’t rate you like they do then.,” she said.
Phyna also noted that many people misunderstand what life after the show looks like, often assuming that former housemates automatically enjoy wealth, stability, and widespread recognition.
She added that behind the glamorous images shared online, several ex-housemates struggle quietly to find their footing after the show ends. For many, the reality of life outside the BBNaija house is starkly different from the excitement and attention they experience during their time on the programme.
