Angelina Jolie Plans to Leave U.S. After Twins Turn 18

Angelina Jolie attends Torino Film Festival solo

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she intends to relocate outside the United States once her youngest children reach adulthood.

According to previous comments cited by People, Angelina Jolie had long avoided living full-time in Los Angeles but remained due to a custody arrangement with her former husband, Brad Pitt. With her twins, Vivienne and Knox, turning 18 on July 12, she is now free to make the move she has reportedly been considering for years.

Sources say the actress is exploring several international locations and is expected to divide her time abroad. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2024, Jolie explained that her primary motivation is ensuring privacy and security for her children. She added that she plans to spend significant time in Cambodia and visiting family members around the world.

Angelina Jolie has long described herself as internationally oriented, citing her global family ties and worldview. While attending the San Sebastián Film Festival in Spain, she expressed concern about the current state of the U.S., saying she no longer fully recognises the country she loves. Her remarks were reported by Variety.

The actress has previously been vocal on political issues, including authoring a 2017 opinion piece in The New York Times criticising former President Donald Trump’s immigration policy.

Jolie’s anticipated move underscores her longstanding global outlook and desire to provide a quieter environment for her family.
