How Juju man tried to cast spell on me but failed – Nathaniel Bassey

Nathaniel Bassey to minister at Donald Trump inaugural prayer breakfast

Nigerian gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has narrated an encounter in which he claimed a traditional spiritualist attempted to place him under a spell.

Speaking during a worship session, Bassey said the incident occurred along an express road and involved a man he described as a “juju man.” According to him, it was the second time the same individual had approached him.

Recounting the experience, he said:

“I don’t know how we knew, but this was the second time that this same guy, the ‘juju man,’ was coming.

“One time on the express road, he came and knocked. He was casting an enchantment, hoping that it would influence me. He was commanding me to do something, but I just stood there and laughed.

“I said, didn’t they tell you that as they went from one kingdom to another, He suffered no man to do them wrong; He rebuked kings for their sake, saying, ‘Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm’?

“I just regretted that I should have kept him there for the police. While he was there, he was waiting for the spell to work on me. But Numbers 23:23 says there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.

“I came out of my car and ordered him to get out of here, you dirty devil, quick. I’m not saying this to boast, but while we do not glorify the devil, there is wickedness in the world.”

Bassey stressed that he was not sharing the account to glorify evil but to highlight what he described as the reality of spiritual wickedness and the power of faith.
