Iran Targets US Bases in Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia After Strikes

Iran strikes US military base in Qatar

Iran has reportedly begun targeting United States military bases in Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and Kuwaitfollowing coordinated attacks on its territory by Israeli and US forces.

According to Al Jazeera, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE have closed their airspace amid rising tensions. The move came after explosions were reportedly heard in Kuwait.

Qatar’s Defence Ministry confirmed on Saturday that an Iranian missile was intercepted by the Patriot air defence system.

Explosions were also reported in Bahrain, where authorities said the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet had been targeted in a missile attack.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported that a loud explosion was heard in the UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi.

The latest escalation marks a widening of hostilities in the region, raising concerns about broader instability across the Gulf.
