Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has reacted to a trending video by socialite Yhemo Lee, where he shared his thoughts on hickeys, also known as love bites.
For context, a hickey is a temporary bruise caused by sucking or biting the skin—often on the neck—and is generally harmless, fading after a few days.
In his video, Yhemo Lee advised young people to be cautious when engaging in such acts, stressing the importance of knowing their partners well. He claimed that some individuals could take things too far due to underlying issues, urging people to be mindful.
“I know that we are in a new generation… youths like to explore… but you need to do a background check before you allow your partners to give you a hickey,” he said.
Reacting to the video, Debbie Shokoya made it clear that she does not understand or relate to the trend at all.
According to the married actress, she even had to look up what a hickey meant after seeing the video.
“I had to go on Google after seeing @yhemo_lee’s video. Mi o understand o! Una go nack finish, still con bite unaself join,” she wrote.

She continued with a humorous and slightly confused tone, questioning the need for such acts after intimacy.
“I can’t relate. As in… Koyemi. E tun ge ara yin je ni? After the whole primary assignment, una still dey hickey abi wetin una dey call am. E be like say na only me no fit relate,” she added.
Debbie also used the moment to promote her YouTube channel, encouraging fans to subscribe to Debbie Show TV ahead of a new movie release.
Her reaction has sparked mixed responses online, with some fans finding her comments funny and relatable, while others defended Yhemo Lee’s perspective and the evolving expressions of intimacy among younger generations.
