Orlando City have officially announced the signing of French forward Antoine Griezmann on a two-year contract running through the 2027–28 season, with an option for an additional year.
The 35-year-old’s move remains subject to standard conditions, including passing a medical, securing his International Transfer Certificate, and obtaining a P-1 visa.
Griezmann is expected to complete the current campaign with Atletico Madrid before joining his new side when the summer transfer window opens on July 13.
“I am very excited to begin this next chapter of my career with Orlando City,” Griezmann said.
“From my first conversations with the Club, I could feel a strong ambition and a clear vision for the future, and that really spoke to me. I look forward to making Orlando my new home, meeting the supporters, feeling the energy at Inter&Co Stadium, and giving everything I have to help the team achieve great things.”
A World Cup winner with France national football team in 2018 and runner-up in 2022, Griezmann enjoyed a successful spell with Atletico Madrid after joining from Real Sociedad in 2014, winning several trophies including the Europa League.
He later made a high-profile move to Barcelona in 2019 before returning to Atletico in 2021.
Griezmann, who finished third in the Ballon d’Or rankings in 2016 and 2018, retired from international football in September 2024 after earning 137 caps for France.
