“I’m Not Attracted to Men” — Peju Johnson Speaks Out After Backlash Over Viral Movie Scene

Peju Johnson Biography, Age, Boyfriend, Movies, Net Worth

Nigerian actress Peju Johnson has responded to the controversy surrounding her latest film Right Thing, following intense reactions to a viral intimate scene from the project.

The movie, which premiered on her YouTube channel, sparked widespread debate online, with many viewers questioning the actress’s personal life based on her on-screen role.

Addressing the backlash via Instagram, Peju Johnson clarified that her real-life identity is completely different from the character she portrayed in the film.

“I’m not someone who is attracted to men,” she revealed, adding that her family and close circle are fully aware of her stance. She also stated that she has no interest in sex, emphasizing that her personal choices should not be judged through the lens of her acting roles.

The actress further disclosed that past experiences, particularly childhood trauma, have significantly influenced her views on relationships and intimacy.

“Let me be honest, since the beginning of 2026, I haven’t had sex. I am a grown woman—if I want to, I would. So why judge me wrongly because of a movie role?” she said.

Peju also used the moment to highlight what she described as a recurring issue in the Nigerian film industry—stereotyping successful and attractive actresses as immoral.

“It’s not easy being an actress, especially a beautiful one. There’s this assumption that if you’re successful and in the spotlight, you must be promiscuous. That stereotype needs to stop,” she added.

Her comments have since fueled broader conversations about personal boundaries, identity, and the distinction between actors and the characters they play, especially in an industry where public perception often blurs those lines.
