Nollywood actress Uche Montana has shared a candid reflection on her journey, revealing how she started working early to survive before finding success in the film industry.

Speaking on the Uncut Xtra podcast, the actress said she did not grow up with privilege but came from a modest background.

“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon. I come from an average family. My father used to own a farm, while my mother was into business,” she said.

According to her, life required her to grow up quickly. After completing secondary school, she took her first job as a nursery school teacher, earning just ₦10,000 monthly.

“Growing up for me was a journey. As an adult, I see that every step of the way has brought me to where I am today,” she added.

Uche also opened up about how fame has influenced her personal life, especially in relationships.

“It would take a special kind of man to pursue a relationship with me and accept me fully,” she said, noting that her public image can sometimes be intimidating.

While she acknowledged that fame can complicate love, she also pointed out the benefits it has brought, particularly financial stability and the ability to support her family.

“Fame is not supposed to make love difficult, but it might be because of the kind of world that we are in,” she said.

Uche Montana began her acting career in 2015 but gained wider recognition for her role as Lovina in the TV series Hush, which aired on Africa Magic Showcase and GOtv Africa.

Her story highlights a steady rise built on persistence, from earning a modest salary to becoming one of Nollywood’s notable faces.
