Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has reportedly been excluded from training sessions at Monterreyfollowing a heated reaction during a recent match.
According to Mexican outlet TUDN, the 30-year-old forward was banished from training after expressing frustration on the sidelines during Monterrey’s 3-2 loss to Chivas de Guadalajara last Sunday.
The report claims Anthony Martial reacted angrily when he was not brought on, despite Monterrey trailing by three goals at the time. Instead, young player Joaquin Moxica was introduced in the 74th minute, a decision that appeared to trigger the striker’s outburst on the substitutes’ bench.
Upset at being overlooked by manager Nicolas Sanchez, Anthony Martial reportedly lost his temper and remained on the bench for the rest of the match without featuring.
Following the incident, the former Manchester United forward has been instructed to stay away from team training for the remainder of the week as disciplinary measures take effect.
