Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal is pushing back hard against claims that she orchestrated the arrest of a social media user who mocked her over a viral AI-generated image — and she is not holding back in her response.

The drama began after Moyo addressed online criticism about her appearance, particularly allegations that she had bleached her skin.

In a move that sparked fresh conversation, she shared AI-generated images depicting herself with a darker complexion, challenging her critics and calling out what she described as bullying over something she believes many people are quietly guilty of.

A Twitter user identified as ScoobyDoe had mocked her over the images, using them to pass a message to his followers. Days later, however, ScoobyDoe claimed the joke came with a heavy price, alleging that he was arrested and detained at the Area F Police Command in Ikeja after the divisional police officer invited him.

According to him, he was locked up for over a week before his lawyer secured his release.

The allegation quickly went viral, with many pointing fingers at the actress.

Moyo, however, is having none of it. In a fiery post, she denied any involvement in the arrest and made it clear that silencing critics for their opinions is not her style.

“Oppression is not my line of defense, why would I take away a RAT’s fundamental human right because of something as frivolous as an opinion over an AI generated April fool joke image representing me falsely for laughs?” she wrote.

She went further to suggest that if she ever intended to take legal action, it would be over something far more serious — and against someone specific, though she stopped short of naming anyone.

“If I do want to arrest someone, I kinda feel like we all know whom I would have arrested a long time ago,” she added cryptically.

The actress also expressed exhaustion over what she described as a pattern of false stories being circulated online about her.

“I am just tired of this whole narrative… O ti su mi, every week some NEW FALSE narrative — why the OBSESSION… please let me breathe,” she wrote.

As of this report, there has been no official confirmation from the Nigeria Police Force linking Moyo Lawal to the alleged arrest of the Twitter user.
