Reality TV star and radio presenter Shamiso Mosaka has responded to a viral moment involving her boyfriend, DJ DJ Speedsta, after the two appeared together at the Metro FM Music Awards 2026.
The awards ceremony, held on 25 April 2026 at the Durban ICC, produced one of the night’s most talked-about moments after a red carpet video began circulating online.
In the clip shared on TikTok by the entertainment page The Update, DJ Speedsta is seen gently pulling Shamiso away from a group of journalists as Shamiso appears to be interacting on the red carpet. The moment quickly sparked debate across social media, with many users questioning his actions.
Comments poured in under the video, with some viewers expressing concern over what they saw, while others reacted with humor and confusion over the brief interaction.
As speculation grew, Shamiso stepped in to address the situation directly, shutting down the narrative being built online.
“TO BE CLEAR, my partner was telling journalists that I won’t do interviews at a radio event’s occasion because I work at a different radio station and I respect that. Stop with the narratives,” she wrote.
Despite her explanation, some users remained unconvinced, arguing that the clip did not clearly show any conversation with journalists.
Shamiso later responded, offering more context about what happened and pushing back against assumptions drawn from the short video.
She explained that DJ Speedsta was not being aggressive, but rather helping her stick to personal boundaries regarding interviews at the event.
“I was not ‘dragged around’ he knew my boundaries around attending this event and was helping me maintain that. Also I was shaking from anxiety (I don’t like carpets) so I actually wanted to take a moment to breathe. Don’t try decide things about people you don’t know from a 5 second clip.”
Her response added more clarity to the situation, highlighting how quickly online narratives can form from brief moments without full context.
