Nollywood actress and filmmaker Teniola Aladese has revealed that while she is open to dating within the film industry, she draws the line at fellow actors.
Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, Teniola explained that she would rather date producers or directors, noting that she prefers individuals who work behind the scenes.
“I don’t want to date an actor, but I don’t mind the upper echelon like producers and directors,” she said.
She also opened up about her experiences with admirers, revealing that her direct messages are flooded with suitors.
“Men have audacity. If I open my DMs for you, you will see a lot,” she added.
Dating in Lagos
Describing the dating scene in Lagos, Teniola said it can be overwhelming and complicated, calling it “stressful” and “a very big mess.” However, she clarified that her personal experiences have not been entirely negative, noting that she has never had a truly bad date.
Career Beyond Acting
Beyond her on-screen presence, Teniola Aladese has built a strong reputation behind the camera as a producer and casting director.
She gained recognition for her role in the TV series Jemeji and has since featured in films such as Soólè, Big Love, Love in a Pandemic, and To Kill a Monkey.
Her dual role in acting and production continues to shape her perspective on the industry, including her preference for partners who understand the craft from behind the scenes.
