Blessing CEO Misses Court Appearance After Lawyer Says She Fell Ill in EFCC Custody

EFCC Arraigns Blessing CEO Over Alleged ₦36 Million Fraud In Lagos

Relationship influencer Blessing CEO was absent from proceedings at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday after her lawyer informed the court that she had fallen ill while in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Her absence came as her ongoing trial over alleged fraud resumed before the court.

Blessing CEO is facing a two-count charge brought by the EFCC, bordering on alleged obtaining by false pretence and the alleged theft of ₦36 million.

When the matter was called, her counsel explained to the court that the social media personality was unable to appear because she was receiving medical attention after reportedly becoming ill while in custody.

The court was informed that her health condition prevented her from attending the day’s proceedings.

The case stems from allegations by the anti-graft agency that Blessing, the CEO, fraudulently obtained money under false pretences and unlawfully converted ₦36 million; she is expected to answer before the court.

She has remained at the centre of public attention since the charges were filed, with the case attracting significant interest across social media because of her prominence as a relationship influencer.

Wednesday’s proceedings, however, focused on her absence rather than the substance of the allegations, as the court was notified of her reported illness through her legal representative.

The case is expected to continue once the court is satisfied that the defendant is medically fit to appear and participate in the trial.

As the legal process unfolds, the allegations against Blessing CEO remain before the court, and no verdict has been reached on the charges.
