Davido has revealed that one of the songs originally meant to appear on his upcoming album, Oriade, has been removed—and he says his longtime aide, Isreal DMW, is the reason why.
The Afrobeats superstar disclosed a livestream with streamer Davrel, explaining that he was forced to drop the unreleased track after Isreal repeatedly previewed it online despite being warned not to.
According to Davido, the issue began when Isreal first played the song publicly before the album’s release. The singer said he immediately confronted his aide and made it clear that unreleased material should not be shared.
“I took down one song off the album cause Isreal DMW kind of leaked it. He promised not to play it again when I warned him only for me to see a video of him dancing with a towel vibing to the song online 2 days later”😂💔

Believing the warning had been understood, Davido expected the incident to end there.
However, only two days later, he came across another video showing Isreal once again playing the same unreleased song online.
This time, Isreal was seen enthusiastically dancing with a towel while vibing to the track, unintentionally giving fans another preview of music that was supposed to remain under wraps until the album’s release.
Recalling the incident, Davido said:
“I took down one song off the album cause Isreal DMW kind of leaked it. He promised not to play it again when I warned him only for me to see a video of him dancing with a towel vibing to the song online 2 days later.”

The revelation offers fans a rare glimpse into how seriously artists protect unreleased music before an album launch. In today’s music industry, premature leaks can affect marketing plans, fan anticipation and even streaming performance, prompting many artists to shelve songs that have already circulated online.
Although Davido spoke about the incident in a lighthearted manner, his decision to remove the track suggests he viewed the repeated previews as enough to compromise its official release.
Neither Davido nor Isreal DMW disclosed the title of the song, leaving fans wondering what record was ultimately left off Oriade and whether it could surface at a later date.
The pair have maintained a close relationship for years, with Isreal DMW becoming a familiar face within Davido’s camp thanks to his unwavering loyalty and humorous personality. However, this latest incident shows that even close associates are expected to respect the boundaries surrounding unreleased music.
With Oriade among the year’s most anticipated Afrobeats projects, fans will now be left imagining the song that never made the final tracklist—all because, according to Davido, Isreal DMW couldn’t resist playing it one time too many.
