Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu has revealed that her son did not receive any money from the Rivers State Government after he was honoured for his Grammy Award win.

It would be recalled that Burna Boy was in the news some months ago after Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike honoured the singer for his achievement in the music industry.
Burna Boy won the Best Global Music Album category with his Twice As Tall album at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
Governor Nyesom Wike reportedly gifted a plot of land as well as funds to build a house on the land to Burna Boy.
However, some Nigerians were not pleased with the move as Burna Boy was called out for receiving gifts from the government despite the fight against bad governance.
Burna Boy was accused of betraying the trust Nigerians have in him by receiving such a gift from the governor.
However, Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu during a recent interview with Ebuka noted that her son did not receive any money because he attended the reception.
According to Bose Ogulu, Burna Boy’s reception was done to honour the singer for his achievements and it would have been disrespectful to turn down such honour.
