AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Super Eagles to take on Guinea Bissau in Morocco

Nigeria will play Guinea Bissau in Morocco in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Super Eagles have a firm grip on Group A after beating Sierra Leone in Nigeria before thrashing Sao Tome and Principe at home.

The Super Eagles play Guinea Bissau twice more in March, and a win in those games would guarantee them a trip to Ivory Coast next year.

Nigeria will host the Djurtus at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja or the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on the 20th before traveling to the reverse fixture a week later.

However, according to a recent Morocco World News report, the second leg will be played in Morocco rather than Guinea Bissau.

This is because CAF did not approve any stadium in Guinea Bissau for the qualifiers. As such, they would have to make do with neutral venues. And Morocco have volunteered their stadiums.

Guinea Bissau will have to choose one of Casablanca’s Mohammed V Complex, Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Complex, Grand Stade de Marrakech, Agadir’s Stade Adrar, Grand Stade de Tanger, and Grand Stade de Fez.

The Super Eagles have already played in Morocco once during the qualifiers. And it was against Sao Tome and Principe at Stade Adrar. Nigeria won the game 10-0.
