During an exclusive conversation, Nigerian singer and songwriter, Wizkid, also known as Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, shared that he composed his popular songs ‘Gyrate,’ ‘Essence,’ ‘Soco,’ and ‘Nowo’ in one night.
When discussing his music creation process, he mentioned that on most nights, his spirit guides him to wake up and create two or three hit songs.
When asked if he had an inkling that ‘Essence’ would become a hit, Wizkid confidently replied, saying he knew his song would make a significant impact.
He exclaimed, ‘Hell yeah.’
Furthermore, he expressed that he had even forgotten about creating the song until he tweeted about making magic with Tems, which garnered people’s attention.
However, he also noted that he has dedicated ten years to his craft.
