Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, professionally known as Oladips, recently recounted his experience under Reminisce’s record label, LRR records, in an interview.
He appeared on the Honest Bunch podcast, hosted by OAP Nedu and other podcasters, where he clarified the rumors surrounding his fake death announcement and apologized on behalf of his management.
During the interview, Oladips explained the reasons behind his departure from Reminisce’s record label.
Despite the success of his hit song, “Lalakukulala,” which was released in 2017, Oladips revealed that he was extremely broke at that time.
Even though he had a nostalgic bop like “Lalakukulala,” he struggled to afford basic necessities and had no food in his house.
In 2019, Oladips publicly stated that he left the record label with only N23,000 (Nigerian Naira) in his bank account.
He further accused Reminisce of making him sign a fraudulent deal.
In his diss track “Maybe,” released in 2019, Oladips expressed his regrets about joining Reminisce’s label and how he wanted to distance himself from Reminisce, referred to as “remi”.
He claimed that his then boss made life hell for him in the label.
Oladips said the label took advantage of him, they cut him off from making money and his other business.
