Nigerian rapper Oladips has alleged that Grammy-winning singer Wizkid stole his intellectual property.
Oladips claimed that Wizkid used lyrics from his song ‘Ajala Travel Remix’ in their recent collaboration titled ‘MMS’ with Asake.
He shared evidence of the similarities between the two songs on his Instagram account.
Despite a fan suggesting that sampling is common practice, Oladips maintained that it is only acceptable when permission has been granted.
He wrote, “It’s normal if you acknowledge the source! No be say dem go dey pretend like say dem no know you but come dey bite your lyrics for corner.”
Wizkid is yet to react to the allegations.
