Reports suggest that Everton will receive the outcome of their appeal against a ten-point deduction by mid-February.
The club was penalized in November for breaking Premier League profit and sustainability rules, surpassing the permitted limit by £19.5 million over a three-year period.
Everton promptly lodged an appeal, arguing that their overspending did not give them any sporting advantage.
They emphasized that the overspend was primarily due to interest payments on loans for their new stadium construction.
If successful, Everton also hopes to have a subsequent charge for breaking the same rules overturned.
An independent hearing regarding the initial punishment is set to begin on Wednesday.
The points deduction has had implications for Everton’s rank in the Premier League, as they currently sit 17th with 17 points, just one point above the relegation zone.
