Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest individual, revealed in an interview that despite being born into a prosperous family, he did not inherit any of their wealth.
Surpassing South Africa’s Johann Rupert, Dangote now holds the title of Africa’s richest man.
He shared that his great grandfather was once the wealthiest man in West Africa during the 1940s, followed by a rich grandfather and father who successfully merged politics and business.
However, Dangote takes pride in the fact that he built his own empire from scratch and did not benefit financially from his family’s prosperity.
He did mention receiving a tangible inheritance from his father, but chose to donate it to charitable causes.
